Staring out of my window
Longing
There is a whole universe out
there
Just beyond my grasp
The stars twinkle
Teasing me.
Come and explore
They seem to whisper.
Blue and purple twirling
together
In mystic delight.
As I lie here dreaming
My body alive in anticipation.
The man on the moon smiles
down benignly
But my stirring heart perceives
mocking undertones.
I close my eyes defiantly
But a kaleidoscope erupts in my
mind’s eye
Inviting me to dive into it
Into my very own universe.
Floating floating
Drifting drifting
Body as limitless as my spirit
I think I will dwell here for just a
while longer.
